The archive of the Grand Priory of Scotland currently extends to in excess of four thousand items. These include official charters and appointments; items of correspondence; items of regalia; photographs and a wide assortment of miscellany of historic value including Relics within Reliquaries, Commemorative Medals, Flags and Altar Equipment.

Included amongst our original documents are the following which many researchers have found of great interest when unravelling the complexities within the recent history of the Order :

+ Agreement between the Prince Regent and Anton Otto Emile Leuprecht, Grand Prior of the Grand Priory of Switzerland, concerning the formation of the autonomous Grand Priories. In French and dated in 1961.

+ Confirmation by the Prince Regent of Anton Leuprecht as being Chef Mondial of the autonomous Grand Priories - dated 1965.

+ Brevet of admittance into the SMOTJ/OSMTH of Francis Andrew Sherry, later the first Grand Prior of Scotland, dated in 1968.

+ Letter to Francis Andrew Sherry by a senior officer informing him of his appointment as Preceptor of Scotland and of his elevation to the rank of Knight Commander - 1971.

+ Charter creating the Preceptory of Scotland on behalf of the Grand Master of the Order - dated in January of 1972.

+ Letter by a senior officer to Francis Andrew Sherry, Preceptor of Scotland, informing him of authorisation having been granted by the Grand Master for the formation of the Grand Priory of Scotland, and laying down stipulations as to protocol and political situations within the Order - 1972

+ Charter creating the autonomous Grand Priory of Scotland of the SMOTJ/OSMTH dated in December of 1972.

+ Letter by the Count Castille Branco thanking Francis Andrew Sherry, Grand Priory of Scotland, for having appointed him Prior of Honour of the Scottish Grand Priory - 1972. <view>

+ Declaration by Anton Leuprecht of the status of the autonomous Grand Priories - 1973.

+ Appointment of Francis Andrew Sherry as Ambassador of the Order - 1975.

+ Charter of reconfirmation of the status of the Grand Priory of Scotland - dated in 1978.

+ Will and Promulgation papers of Anton Otto Emile Leuprecht by which he conveyed the office of Chef Mondial to Francis Andrew Sherry - dated at Geneva and Edinburgh in May of 1981.

+ Charter of foundation of the International Federative Alliance (I.F.A.) - dated at the Castle of Suigenza, Spain, in 1988.

+ Decree of Expulsion by the Grand Master against Francis Andrew Sherry - Dated 1989.

+ Statutory Declaration by Francis Andrew Sherry, Grand Prior of Scotland, as to the status and antiquity of the Grand Priory of Scotland - dated 1989.

+ Charter by the Grand Master establishing the Magistral Priory of Scotland - 2002.

+ Charter by the Grand Master confirming the succeeding Grand Prior of Scotland - 2009

In addition to those documents relating speficially to the SMOTJ/OSMTH also in our possession are earlier documents which, although not directly connected with this particular Order, are of interest. These include the following two documents, the first being a grant for Templelands in favour of Charles Steuart and dated in 1757 ; and the second for the Templelands of Kynnchan in favour of William Steuart, dated in 1659.
